According to the Housing Industry Association (HIA) there was a 30% increase in greater Brisbane’s detached new home approvals for the December quarter 2013 to December quarter 2014 period.
The Gold Coast rose 50% for the same period
HIA’s Executive Director, Warwick Temby, said: “The home building recovery in Queensland began with a surge in multi-unit approvals, but the ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) figures for the December quarter 2014 show that detached homes are not eh growth area.”
